Volunteer for Splash Day

Splash Day Fall 2020 is over. Thank you to everyone who volunteered!

Splash Day is a day where we invite high school students from around the United States to engage in a fun day of learning. Throughout the day, high schoolers will have a chance to take a variety of classes designed and taught by undergrads. Splash Day Fall 2020 will take place virtually on November 7, 2020.

Splash Day cannot run smoothly without the help of volunteers. This year, we will need volunteers to sit in on classes and moderate them, to staff the help and registration "desks" (Zoom rooms), as well as to help make sure that the event is running smoothly logistically. If you are interested in volunteering for Splash Day, please register here. We will contact you with more details closer to the event.

Volunteers can indicate availability for one or more of the following shifts:

  • 8:45 to 9:45am: Set up, registration, check-in
  • 9:45 to 10:45am: First class period, help desk
  • 10:45 to 11:45am: Second class period, help desk
  • 11:45am to 12:45pm: Lunch break; help desk, teacher check-ins
  • 12:45 to 1:45pm: Third class period, help desk
  • 1:45 to 2:45pm: Fourth class period, help desk
  • 2:45 to 3:45pm: Last class period, wrap-up
  • 3:45 to 4:30pm: Wrap-up

For security purposes, all volunteers must be students at the University of Rochester and will need to be background checked. There may be a mandatory volunteer meeting (time TBD) before the event where we will discuss our plan for the day in detail.
