Brief Biographical Sketch:

Hi everyone! my name is Aryaa and I'm thrilled to be teaching this course this year. I am a second-year at the University of Rochester, majoring in Neuroscience and minoring in Medical Anthropology. Outside of classes, I love spending time with my friends, listening to music, and gardening.The human brain is absolutely fascinating, especially when you think of its complexity and how much is unknown about such a critical structure. I hope this course is a fun and interesting introduction to learning more about the brain!

Have you ever wondered how marijuana, cocaine, methamphetamines, opiates, and other drugs affect the human brain? This class will investigate how illegal substances hijack brain circuitry and reward pathways as well as cause a tremendous psychological and physical impact on everyday life.
