M189: Quantum Computing in Splash Spring 2022 (Feb. 19, 2022)
Can something be on and off at the same time? Yes! Kind of... In the modern age of technology, quantum computers offer a fast alternative to the computers we know and love today. This course discusses the basics of quantum information theory and applications like cryptography, communication, "teleportation", and more.

M131: From the Naturals to the Reals: A Curious Construction in Stratosphere Summer 2020 (Jun. 06 - 27, 2020)
Georg Cantor, the inventor of modern set theory, once said that “God made the natural numbers; all the rest is the work of man.” In this lecture we build the real numbers, which contains such pivotal constants as $$ \pi $$, $$ e $$, and $$ \sqrt 2 $$, elegantly and soundly on the foundation of the natural numbers.

M129: How were the real numbers born? in Splash Spring 2020 (Mar. 28, 2020)
The natural numbers come pretty...naturally. Then we can just throw in the negatives and get the integers. Pretty easy right? What if we want the rationals? Why not just take quotients of integers! But how can we formalize what a real number really is? What even is $$\sqrt 2$$? In this class, we will dig into what a real number REALly is. Join us in building mathematics from the ground up!
